Dear iPhone,
I want to thank you for all that you have done for me over the past year and a half.
You have:
1. Given me directions which
2. Saves me from getting lost in sketchy parts of town
3. Helped me not to overdraw my account
4. Kept me entertained during wating periods
5. Woken me up
6. Given me the freedom of carrying one device instead of two, thank you ipod
7. Been my weatherman
8. Given me all the time access to my camera
9. Always kept me up to date with social media
10. Email. nough said.
You have also:
1.DAMAGED MY BANK ACCOUNT
2. Broken FIVE times
3. Been a distraction
4. Given me the wrong directions/time
5. Been slow
So, yes, the good outweighs the bad.
The moral of this "story" is that I am spending to much money on convienence.
Ryan and I are about to get married, if you dont already know, in 31 days.
As we prepare for this milestone in our lives, we are joining many things together.
Housing.
Food.
Insurance.
Money.
Money.
Money.
If you know anything about me, you know that financially, I have never been great, good or decent at budgeting my money. Ryan on the other hand, is VERY good at budgeting, (PRAISE GOD!)
I have had my iPhone for about a yer and a half and LOVE it, hate paying $95 for it, though.
Ryan has had the same phone for at least since I have known him, which is almost 4 years. He pays $30.
So, coming together, we already have a difference in opinions on what we "want" and what we "need". (I can argue needing and wanting an iPhone, so don't try me.) Ryan, is a minimalist. Yes, there are things He wants, but when it comes to saving money, that always out weighs what he wants. So, when we go in to merge our cell phones, of course, Ryan thinks I should rid myself of the iPhone. This is so sad to me. Sad that I am willing to argue with my husband over such a silly thing, and sad that I LOVE a silly phone this much.
People, I need your help.
I feel a pulling from the spirit to get rid of my phone, and my flesh is telling me its okay to keep it.
If you know me at all, you know I am a people pleaser,(prayer for this flaw too), so please be gentle in your comments.
Much love people.

The Calender is FULL!
People.
Can any of you relate to being over committed?
My calender is so full right now that I can not wait until the holidays are over.
The next few weekends are going to be weekends that I tresure in my heart forever though.
This weekend coming up my sweet friends, Natalie, Christene and Jennie are throwing me my first bridal shower. I am so excited! Its an "around the clock" theme, so everyone will bring gifts for their assigned time. So if you got 8am you would bring say a waffle maker, if you got the 12am you would bring lingerie maybe. Just to give you all a feel for what it will be like.
I am so blessed to have these ladies in my life.
I can't wait to share with you all the sweet little details of my first shower. :)
love yall!
Britt

New Chapter.
Things have been so crazy lately with Ryan and I.
I mean with changing jobs, looking for a job, finding an apartment, photo shoots, planning a wedding, showers and other friends getting married, I couldn't be more excited for January when Ryan and I head to Colorado for 5 days.
The Lord has done a great work in my life lately.
I got a new job about 2 weeks ago and just started yesterday.
I feel a huge weight has lifted off of my shoulder. I am no longer supervising anyone, no longer worrying about how many people are waiting in line to be checked out and no longer wearing a blue shirt.
There are so many more things that satisfy my soul in being done with that last chapter.
Now, a few more crazy busy weeks and the next chapter in my life will begin.
Only 53 more days and I will be a married woman.
WOOHOO! :)
Love!

Sewing.
Is any one else tired of being a slave to fighting your favorite store for that perfect dress/skirt/shirt?
I am so tired of dreaming of certain things and not being able to find it any where.
So, I have decided to try and find a cheap sewing machine and learn how to sew.
Here are some things I would love to make in the next few months:
1. Curtains for our new home
2. Full skirts that are long enough to be modest and wear to work
3. Pillows for the couches and bed
4. Shower curtain
5. Outdoor Curtains for our amazing, huge porch. :)
Do any of you know where I can find a good deal for a sewing machine?
LOVE!

Approved!
Saturday, Ryan and I decided to go look for an apartment in the Energy Corridor so we would be close to my job. We spent all day looking at several different places and finally decided on one.
I fell in love with this place as soon as we walked in.
We decided on a one bedroom, one bathroom with a study apartment just 5 miles from my job.
It has a beautifully large back porch and his and her sinks, which I hear is a MUST!
We put in our application last night, paid all the ridiculously fees and waited.
I had to send off my offer letter from my new job this morning and wait to see if we got approved.
At 12pm, I got a phone call from AMLI to say that we were approved to move in November 23!
WOOHOO!
So, just 3 weeks before the big day, on Thanksgiving weekend, we will be moving into our new home.
Don't worry, neither one of us will be sleeping there until after the wedding, to stay with the tradition.
We are so excited about life together!
Do you have any words of wisdom on your first home with your husband?
Much love people!

Weekends off!
The past 8 years, I have worked a retail/service related job, which means that I have worked weekends and an up and down random schedule for 8 years. To those of you who have not had to experience this kind of a schedule, you should pray for the people who have to do this. It has been a very stressful and difficult experience. You can never make plans more than a week in advance, your sleep schedule is pretty random, you can't be involved in a mid week bible study, you can pretty much just slave your life away to your job.
I don't understand how people with families do it.
A few months ago, I began to pray for a new job with quite a few qualifications.
I felt like my standards were to high but I knew the Lord had a plan. After all, He knows the desires of our hearts.
I applied to about 60 different jobs all which had to potential to fit at least 8 out of my 10 standards.
I never got a call for an interview.
Until 2 weeks ago, Thursday, September 22.
I got a phone call from Lori at an architecture firm here in Houston.
She scheduled an interview for Tuesday with me.
I went in on Tuesday, super nervous, and succeeded in the interview. She scheduled me for a second interview right then and there for Thursday.
Thursday morning I went in and met with Lori again along with one of the partners.
To say the least, we laughed the whole time.
I felt like I had the job right then and there.
I asked when I would here anything, and they said by Monday.
The NEXT MORNING, I got a call. I got the job!!!!
I finally get to work a Monday-Friday 9-5 job.
I finally get to make plans.
I finally get to put money in my savings account.
I am so thankful for how the Lord has provided.
Praise Him for His provisions.

We got engaged!
May 23, 2011, Ryan Allen Fletcher asked me, Brittany Paige Burchfield, to be his wife. I couldn't be a happier girl than to marry this special man. He is such a wonderful part of my life.
Here is the story I promised so long ago that I would tell:
Back in October of 2010, Ryan and I began to discuss what our next step in the relationship would be. We looked at rings for the first time and I thought "it" would come any day. Well, 6 months later, April rolled around and we looked at rings again. We found this beautiful ring but I knew it was WAY out of the budget and so I had to expectations.
After looking at rings again, I knew it was to come any time. Ryan had a different plan.
I started to get frustrated, impatient, restless that Ryan was never going to ask me.
So, I tried to quit thinking about it. Of course, I couldn't.
In May, Ryan and I had made plans to go out to Camp to see some of our friends.
The week before our trip out to Camp, Ryan told me he couldn't go any more because he had a couple doctors appointments. So, I would have to go alone.
I took off work on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday to spend time with my best friend, Meredith.
I called her Sunday to see if I could come out to camp early and she made up some lame excuses as to why I shouldn't. The truth was that Ryan was out at the Camp already trying to set up his romantic proposal.
I ended up waiting to leave for the Camp early Monday.
As soon as I arrived, things felt weird. I couldn't get in touch with Ryan and I felt out of place there, which is not normal, since Camp is like my second home.
I spent all day hanging out with my best friends, Jennie and Meredith, talking about Ryan and him proposing, and how I was sick of waiting and how frustrated I was in waiting. They just kept encouraging me to be patient and not to worry.
After dinner, Jennie, Mer and I hung out for a while and then we had to go light a camp fire for a fake group.
The girls took me out on the golf cart and as we drove up to the meadows campfire, I saw how beautifully lit up the wooded area was. I even said to the girls, "WOW! This is so beautiful, I wonder what group is here?" The girls just thought I was silly.
Then we pulled up and I saw Ryan, at the end of a trail of tiki torches and candles, standing there waiting on me. I looked at Jen and Mer and asked, "Is this for me?" Then, of course, they scooted me out of the cart and Ryan came and got me. We hugged for a long time and then sat down underneath all the candles, fire and lanterns. Ryan began to pour His heart out to me. I actually wasn't sure at this point if He was proposing or not. I mean, brother talked for like an hour. Somewhere in the middle of his talking, his best friend walked in with a cheesecake for us. It was so random. Then we cried together and walked over to a cross and prayed together. Ryan got down on one knee and handed me the ring I thought I would never see again.
Of course, I said YES. :)
Then, we drove up to the Marmax conference room to see all of our friends. It was so fabulous.
Im so lucky to be in love with my best friend.
I cant wait to walk down the aisle to my best friend.
